The Redskins unveiled their throwbacks earlier this year and they will be pulling them out of the closet this Sunday when they play the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. The uniforms are as old school as you can get, but done extremely well by the folks at Nike. Fittingly the uniforms will be worn as the ‘Skins have their “homecoming” celebration, which is when old players and coaches will be honored at FedEx Field prior to the game. Here is a description of the throwbacks: “Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his staff worked closely with Nike to create a look that spoke to the club’s unique heritage, while highlighting several key details that helped define the team’s history. The alternate anniversary uniform is a balance between history and tradition, featuring a rich darker color palate and updated numbering system. It is a modern interpretation of those worn back in 1937 — a year signifying the team’s move from Boston to Washington, D.C., as well as their first national championship. The...

Report: Hall will not be suspended

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall reportedly will not be suspended and only will be fined for an incident involving an official last weekend that prompted his ejection.

RG3 says he rather be compared to Aaron Rodgers than Cam Newton

RG3 and Cameron have a few things in common. They both won the Heisman trophy and they are running a hybrid of the read option offense in the pros. That is about it. Cameron is huge quarterback along the lines of Ben Rothelisberger while RG3 is built more like Drew Brees. Cameron is a more physical runner like Tim Tebow and RG3 is more explosive runner like a young Michael Vick...

The Redskins are fun to watch, too bad they're not winning more. Week 9 Preview.

The Redskins are exciting to watch, they're just not winning a lot of games yet.  The key is that they are building for the future and RG3 is gaining a ton of experience.  Everyone should wonder if RG3 will continue to grow this season and next or does he turn into Cam Newton. Denver at Cincinnati - The Boncos and Peyton Manning have things rolling now on both sides of...

DeAngelo Hall says if he gets fined for Ref incident, Ref should too

DeAngelo Hall threw a fit that led to his ejection from Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was ejected for getting into the face of a Referee and he wasn’t willing to back down. It took several teammates and staff to get Hall to chill out on his way to the locker room. A few days later and he seems a bit more calm, but he says that if he gets fined for the incident...

Mike Shanahan feels like a dumba– after having RG3 play wide receiver

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told the media that he feels like an idiot for having quarterback Robert Griffin III play quarterback after he took quite a hit down field. “After looking at that play you feel like a complete dumbs—,” Shanahan said, per NFL.com. Shanahan should feel dumb for putting his franchise quarterback in harms way.  He’s also going to...

Pierre Garcon already ruled out this week

According to the Washington Post, Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon will not try to play until after their bye week. Safety Brandon Meriweather was limited in practice on Thursday and is a “long shot” to play Sunday. Linebacker London Fletcher practiced and will likely play this week.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script&...

Washington Redskins: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#18)

Last week: 18 (-1) Record: 3-5 Robert Griffin had the worst game of his career, going 16 of 34 for 177 yards and a touchdown, last week against the Steelers, but you can’t really blame him. For one, he endured 7 drops. Two, Steelers’ defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau is a ridiculous 14-1 as Steelers’ defensive coordinator against rookies. Even with a banged up defensive squad...

RG3: Compare me to Aaron Rodgers

Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III would prefer it if he were compared to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers instead of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

Garcon OUT for Week 9 – Upgrade Moss?

The Redskins won't begin to recoup on their hefty investment in Pierre Garcon in Week 9. With the week 10 BYE coming up there is a good chance that Garcon will able to return in Week 11.

(Updates. With AP Photos.) By JOSEPH WHITE AP Sports Writer Logan Paulsen played both tight end and defensive end at Chaminade College Preparatory School in Northridge, Calif. He even set a school record with 24 sacks in his junior season. In his freshman year at UCLA, the two-way player became a one-way player. One overriding factor made it a simple decision. ''The moment...

Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins: Week 9 NFL Pick

Carolina Panthers (1-6) at Washington Redskins (3-5) This is one of two trap lines I identified this week. According to this line, the Redskins and the Panthers are comparable teams with Washington as 3 point home favorites. However, Washington is at 3-5 and the Panthers are at 1-6. Because of that, the action is on Washington and yet, the line is still falling as it opened at -4...

Steelers Defensive Coverage Stats Versus Redskins – Week 8

Below are the coverage stats for the Pittsburgh Steelers following their Sunday win against the Washington Redskins. The completion percentage of 46% was helped by the drops in the game. The yards after the catch numbers were good considering how good the Redskins had been coming into the game at getting yards after the catch. Overall it was a good game coverage wise and the Redskins...
