TEAMS: Washington Redskins, New York Giants
The Washington Redskins planned to work out free agent punters after Sav Rocca "tweaked" his knee while jogging Thursday, head coach Mike Shanahan said. The Redskins will work Rocca out on Saturday before deciding whether to sign another punter for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Rocca is officially listed as questionable. Rocca also serves as the holder on field goals. Backup quarterback Kirk Cousins has been practicing as the holder the past two days, and would serve in that capacity Sunday if Rocca can't play, unless the replacement punter has experiencing holding. Fullback Darrel Young was also listed as questionable after reporting a tight hamstring Friday, and Shanahan said he would be a game-time decision. "With those hamstrings, you just never know," Shanahan said. Wide receiver Pierre Garcon (foot) did not practice and is listed as doubtful, while safety Brandon Meriweather will miss another game with his knee injury. Also...

Redskins P Sav Rocca Injured, Ex-Eagles P Chas Henry Brought In For A Workout
The Redskins might need another punter for Sunday. Sav Rocca was limited in practice because of an issue with his right knee, prompting the Redskins to bring in free agent punter Chas Henry on Friday.
Henry has a 44.0-yard average on 82 career punts, including 16 this season with Philadelphia. The problem has been his net average, which is 37.6.

DISCUSS THE REDSKINS IN OUR FAN FORUM
INJURY UPDATE: Somehow, punter Sav Rocca injured himself and the Redskins are working out former Eagles punter Chas Henry today. Rocca is also a former Eagles punter so it appears the Redskins like former Eagles punters.

Redskins' 'One Man Gang' Alexander gets his due
Washington Redskins special teams maven Lorenzo Alexander is making a move to get more playing time on defense.
The player nicknamed ''One Man Gang'' had 1 1/2 sacks and plucked a fumble out of the air deep in opposition territory in Redskins' 38-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The Redskins have been looking to fill the spot left vacant by the season-ending...
Robert Griffin III is NFL Rookie of the Week Again
For the third time in six weeks, the NFL has named Redskins QB Robert Griffin III the rookie of the week. Not surprising given his stellar performance against the Vikings. RGIII threw for over 180 yards and a TD while he also ran for 139 yards including a 76 yard TD dash that iced the Redskins win over Minnesota.
Overall, RGIII is second overall in rushing TDs with 6 on...

Washington City Paper: Hail to the Pigskins
There may not be a more racist sports team name than the one of the Washington Redskins. One of the NFL’s longtime franchises adopted the racial descriptor for a name back in the team’s second season while still calling Boston home. I know, I am as shocked as you are when it comes to where [...]
Redskins WR Pierre Garcon Listed As Doubtful For Week 7
Redskins listed Pierre Garcon as doubtful for Sunday's game against the NFC East-rival New York Giants with a nagging foot injury the wide receiver has been battling for most of this season.
Punter Sav Rocca (knee) and fullback Darrel Young (hamstring) are both questionable for Sunday's game. Cornerback Cedric Griffin was a limited participant and was also termed questionable...
