Redskins wide receiver coach Ike Hilliard will leave the team and join the Buffalo Bills for the same position, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
The former New York Giant and Tampa Bay Buccaneer just completed his first season with the Redskins, he oversaw a unit that had five wide receivers with at least 500 receiving yards or more.
Hilliard will work under new Bills offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who served as an assistant in Tampa Bay from 2006-07 while Hilliard played there.
Rich Campbell of The Washington Times first reported the news of Hilliards exit.
Hilliard is the first Redskins coach to depart this offseason for another job, a person with knowledge of the situation said the Redskins do not yet have a replacement lined up.
