As a fan since 1969, I agree with Doughty
Washington Redskins safety Reed Doughty believes that if his team doesn’t win tomorrow night’s game against the Cowboys and reach the playoffs, this season will be a failure.
“All this is is an opportunity,” said Doughty, per USA Today Sports. “You don’t want to look at it at the end of the year and say, ‘Oh, we came back and finished above .500.’ What does that mean? Nothing. For us the playoff opportunity is essential. At this point, the season is a failure, if not (and) a huge disappointment, to say the least.”
I tend to disagree with Doughty. Even if the Redskins finish 9-7 and don’t make the playoffs, they’ll still have finished a lot better than many people thought they would and it would be something to build on heading into the offseason.
