Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush, hampered by an injured left knee, returned for at least the first part of Friday's practice.
How his knee responds to that workout likely will determine whether Bush is in the lineup for Sunday's game at Washington.
It's certainly an encouraging sign that he got back on the field, but defensive tackle Nick Fairley (shoulder) came back to practice last Friday and then didn't play two days later at Arizona.
Bush was injured in the second quarter of a loss to the Cardinals when he took a helmet to the knee while getting tackled.
The Lions will release their official injury report Friday at 4 p.m.
