Rumors and Rants:
The NFL’s free agency period opens in two weeks but we’re already hearing a lot of rumblings about who will end up where. One of the biggest names likely to be available once the free agent derby kicks off is Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush. And from the look of things, the Detroit Lions are going to make a serious push for the 27-year-old USC product. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press has reported that the Lions have “real interest” in Bush and he will be the team’s primary target at running back this offseason. With Jahvid Best’s future up in the air thanks to repeated concussion issues, the Lions likely feel that Bush would fit right into the team’s offense as a versatile threat. Bush came into his own over the past two seasons in Miami. During his time with the Dolphins, Bush rushed for 2,072 yards on 443 carries (4.67 yards per carry), with 12 touchdowns. He also caught 78 passes for 588 yards and three more scores. But with cheaper options already on the roster in...

The Miami Dolphins are known for an undefeated season, tough players, and smash-mouth football on both ends of the field. Since Marino retired the team has been in a constant rebuilding (trial and error) phase, but appears to be on the correct path to once again becoming contenders in the AFC.The Dolphins had another disappointing season in 2012 going 7-9, as they went from 7-9 in...
I’m not here to say being a NFL G.M. is an easy job, but if Jeff Ireland doesn’t hit the 2013 NFL draft on the money, then he won’t be on the Miami Dolphins in 2014. The scene is set for the Dolphins in the 2013 draft. They have five picks in the first three rounds, and unfortunately for Ireland; he has never had a lot of luck in those rounds under his leadership... Read more

Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Pat White will work out at West Virginia’s pro day on March 14th to try to prove to NFL scouts that he can still play.
The Dolphins drafted White in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft, but he ended up flaming out and pursuing a career in baseball that hasn’t taken him very far.

Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post reports that a “well-placed league source” has informed him that the Dolphins were “active in meetings” with potential free agents at this year’s NFL Combine.
Volin’s source added that GM Jeff Ireland was looking “pretty hard” at the wide receiver position in particular.
No specific players were named as targets for the Dolphins...
After going a bitterly disappointing 4-12, the Detroit Free Press reports the Lions will aggressively pursue Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush as a free agent this spring. The 27-year-old Bush, who the New Orleans Saints took out of the University of Southern California with the second pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, will soon be fired as a Dolphin in favor of youngster Lamar Miller...

Lions’ QB Matt Stafford didn’t have a big fantasy season and Detroit really flopped after a trip to the playoffs in 2011. Looks like he is doing fine for himself as he and his girl Kelly Hall were vacationing at the Atlantis in the Bahamas last week.

According to Rapoport, Philadelphia “likes him a ton,” but have some concerns regarding his overall...
Before there was a Colin Kaepernick, RG3, and Russell Wilson running spread, innovative offenses, there was Pat White at West Virginia.
White who was a former 2nd round pick of the Dolphins and essentially a bust soon after that. White left the NFL in 2009 to pursue a career in baseball with the Royals before trying his hand at acting.
Yahoo Sport is now reporting that White is...

Remember when Jeff Ireland asked Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute? He did apologize, but that line of questioning was never dismissed by the NFL. Only the NFLPA stood up against that.
But, if you asked Manti Te’o if he is gay or if a player likes girls, the NFL frowns upon that.

Colts cornerback Vontae Davis took to his Twitter account earlier today to inform his followers that he saw former teammate Dolphins cornerback Sean Smith last night and that Smith was talking to Kansas City. That would be all well and good besides the fact that under league rules, Smith can’t talk to another team because he’s under contract with the Dolphins. When something...
