It really should be a no brainer; Bruce Arians did what 11 other NFL head coaches have done, make the playoffs. Except Arians isn’t the head coach, as the offensive coordinator, he was thrown into a double tough situation. With Chuck Pagano having to leave the team to be treated for cancer, and one that had the overall first pick in the 2012 draft because they simply stunk. A recipe for disaster was in place; however, Arians took the lemons and made lemonade. Wide receiver Reggie Wayne is one of the few holdovers from the Peyton Manning regime, and he knows what it’s like to be a perennial contender. He also knows what it is like to be the worst team in football, like in 2011. Wayne watched the drama unfold at the start of the season and is strong belief there isn’t anyone more deserving for coach of the year than Arians. Wayne spoke to Query and Schultz on WNDE in Indianapolis about his support for Arians. “I think he did a great job of just keeping everybody intact. It could have been so easy for us to just fall off the wagon when Chuck got diagnosed with Leukemia. Everybody kind of just hang their heads down; we’re missing our coach, things are going to go haywire. But Coach Arians has come in, kept everything the same, kept everybody into it, kept everybody enthused and understanding the system and kept us on pace to just focus on the task at hand. Not everybody’s going to be able to reach out to a team and get that accomplished, and I think he did a great job of doing that.”   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
