A woman tailgating before the Eagles' home opener screamed ''Run, Andy, Run'' in the parking lot outside Lincoln Financial Field, holding a sign to express the same sentiment in case nobody was listening. Fans have been imploring Andy Reid to run the ball ever since he became Philadelphia's head coach in 1999. Though Reid has been the most successful coach in franchise history while employing a pass-happy philosophy in his version of the West Coast offense, the numbers just might support the fans in this case. In Michael Vick's 28 starts at quarterback, the Eagles are 17-11. They're 14-4 when Vick throws 35 or fewer passes and just 3-7 when he throws more. ''Philosophically, I don't care as much about balance in any particular game,'' offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Thursday. ''If we have to run the ball 50 times to win the game, that's what we'll do. If we need to pass the ball 50 times in any parti...

Philadelphia Eagles Run-Pass Ratio: The Proof is in the Pudding

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg was peppered with questions this week about the run-pass ratio and whether or not they should run the ball more in the first half. After looking at his answers, and then going through the numbers myself, there is a little discrepancy there. First, here is what he was asked, followed by his answers...

Philadelphia Eagles: Week 4 NFL Power Rankings (#4)

Last week: 4 (+0) Record: 2-1 The Eagles have gotten killed with turnovers in their first 3 games, with a league worst -6 turnover ratio. However, that tends to even out on a week to week basis. This is still one of the most talented teams in the league and they rank 4th in the league in yards per play differential. I expect them to eventually get their act together and finish as...

Philadelphia Eagles fans again prove to be jackasses by urging Andy Reid to start unproven rookie Nick Foles over the dynamic Michael Vick

Vick warns Giants defense: 'I can switch it up'

Michael Vick may have 32-year old legs and his coaches are telling him to resist scampering down the field at the first white of a defensive lineman's eyes. But that doesn't mean the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback still can't run. The Eagles' scrambler has a warning for anyone who thinks his best days as an athlete are behind him and he can't make a big play...
