One notable absence from the start of training camp is veteran safety Renaldo Hill. Hill is scheduled to make $2.4 million, and his spot on the field is vulnerable after the team drafted two safeties — including free safety Rahim Moore — in April. Moore and fellow rookie Quinton Carter were also not on the field for the start of practice. Carter’s contract should be finalized this morning, and the team is also close to finishing Moore’s four-year deal. Both players could be on the field this afternoon. Teams will be allowed to begin cutting players this afternoon. Veteran running back Correll Buckhalter, whose name remains on the roster, has already been told he will be cut, and he is not at practice today.
