Now that the NFL is two days removed from the debacle that was the Seahawks victory over the Packers on a last second Hail Mary pass where the replacement referees incorrectly rewarded Seattle the game winning touchdown, maybe fans can look at this situation in a more rational way. Not likely. For those of you that missed it, or have been under a rock since Monday evening, Seattle’s rookie Quarterback, Russell Wilson, threw up a prayer into the end zone with eight seconds left in the game trailing 12-7. Green Bay Safety M.D. Jennings had two hands on the ball grasping it to his chest while Seattle Receiver Golden Tate maybe had five fingers on the pigskin. Two replacement referees were on the scene, one ruled interception, the other touchdown.Eventually, Tate wrestled the ball away from Jennings and the touchdown was rewarded to Seattle. The play was also reviewed, but the ruling stood giving the Seahawks a 14-12 win. The ultimate fan nightmare, a replacement referee deciding the out...

Seahawks WR Golden Tate Says He Pushed Versus Packers But Did Not Cheat

Lol. I swear, I fell out when I read this.  I know it’s not proper journalistic etiquette to start an article off laughing. Sorry. Where was I? The Seattle Times is reporting that Golden Tate has chosen to come clean. He admits to grotesquely pushing off in the Seattle Seahawks‘ controversial victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. “I’m not going to...

The Ref Who Called Golden Tate’s Extremely Controversial TD Last Night Is, Get This, A Seahawks Fan

Even though I didn’t post it here (I went to bed early, screw me), it should be terribly obvious by now that the replacement refs totally screwed up last night’s game between the Packers and Seahawks. I’m not gonna explain what happened because you should know what happened by now, but here’s a link if you need reference. Anyway, the blown call caused serious outrage, including...

Thoughts on the bizarre finish to the Seahawks vs. Packers game tonight? (4 Photos n’ Counting)

The pundits will start the conversation on the controversial end to tonights Seahawks vs. Packers game in the morning but we can start it right now. The books will show that Russell Wilson made a Hail Mary pass to Golden Tate to win the game. The film will show Golden Tate's offensive interference and, subsequently, M.D. Jenning's interception of Wilson's pass. Was...

Seahawks: “Intertouchdownception” at CenturyLink Field

The Seahawks win their first loss of the season against Green Bay among a televised audience during Monday Night Football. Green Bay will lose to the officiating, not Russell Wilson and Golden Tate, 14-12. The positives came from the first half. Seattle’s defense showed up tough today sacking Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers eight times and rushing him out of the pocket...

Seattle Seahawks, Replacement Referees Make Great Team

It was fourth and last chance, throw it up, and pray. I had all but turned the television off, exasperated at another chance for Seattle to make a statement on a national stage.I watched helplessly as Russell Wilson scrambled right, perform the five d's of dodge ball, dodge, duck, dip, dive, dodge, and throw a bomb to the back left corner of the end zone.Who would have known...

NFL To Address Hail Mary Call Today

The NFL will address the controversial call that ended the Seattle Seahawks' 14-12 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday, Steve Wyche of NFL Network reports. The Seahawks won the game on a 24 yard Hail Mary Pass from Russell Wilson when the officials ruled that Seahawks receiver Golden Tate and Packers defensive back M.D. Jennings simultaneously caught the ball despite...

The straw that broke the camel’s back

After an atrocious week of officiating I speak for everyone when I say, “The time to get rid of the replacement officials is now!” I literally saw messed up calls in every single game this week, some worse than others. I saw wrong spots on penalties, a hospitalized player on a helmet to helmet with no flag, not reviewing replay properly on a challenge, wrong calls and the list...

SteelDad Breaks Down the Inaccurate Reception

First and foremost, I am Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan. That also makes me a football fan. I have played and watched and coached a lot of football in my many years on this rock so while that doesn’t necessarily make me an expert, I do feel a certain amount of expertise. I feel, therefore, it’s my duty to break down this play in the only way I can and that means as sarcastically...

Ed Hochuli And Other Regular Officials Return: What Now?

Finally it is over.  The replacement officials have finally been relieved of their duties and the real officials, led by Ed "Hocules" Hochuli, can take their rightful place back on the gridiron. This comes after the debacle on Monday Night Football when an official wrongly (no matter what the NFL says) awarded Golden Tate and the Seattle Seahawks a touchdown and consequently...

Fantasy football forecast: Seattle Seahawks Week 4 NFL projections

Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 4 Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 4 Predicctions Well, at least the debacle in Seattle last week resulted in something good – the regular Refs are coming back to work! See – everything happens for a reason!?! The Seahawks figure to have a much easier time against St. Louis this week although there is not a whole lot of Fantasy Gold...

Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams: Week 4 NFL Pick

Seattle Seahawks (2-1) at St. Louis Rams (1-2) I love to exploit home/road discrepancies so the Seahawks are one of my favorite teams to bet. Since 2007, they are 29-14 ATS at home and 14-28 ATS on the road. Riding that trend is the reason why I’ve selected every Seahawks game correctly this year and for significant units as well. Going on the road to St. Louis this week, I plan...

Gibs Week 4 NFL Picks

Last week ended on a historic call. The Packers lost a game they shouldn’t have because of the brutal replacement officiating. An interception overturned because of a brutal roughing the passer all. A pass interference call on a 1st & 33 situation that was, if anything, offensive pass interference. Then the finale. The hail mary bomb from Russell Wilson to Golden Tate....

Prideful or Shameful Win? One Answer

A night that was supposed to go down in history as one of the greatest regular season finshes ever has been clouded in drama and controversy. Everywhere you turned on Tuesday morning was a debate over the final play of last night’s thrilling victory (or is it, say the so-called experts) over Green Bay. It was inescapable; even non-sports fans didn’t hear the end of it. And there...

The best replacements from sports and entertainment

If you are reading this then there is a 100% chance that you know about the BS call the replacement refs made in the Green Bay Packers vs Seattle Seahawks Monday Night Football game. Every part of the play from the non-pass interference call to the interception that somehow turned into a Golden Tate touchdown was complete garbage (though I had the Seahawks +3.5 so I can live with...
