Kaepernick, 49ers post solid game on strength of standout performance from Vernon Davis (Week 6 Review)

Colin Kaepernick had no interest (or opportunity?) to throw to anyone not-named Vernon Davis, but he didn’t really need any other receivers. Davis was winning his battles deep and Kap showed good touch on the ball on deep passes his way. On a day when Frank Gore really didn’t contribute much early in the game and Anquan Boldin was looked at eight times, making just three catches...

SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPNFantasy Spin:Smith, who has a history of substance abuse, is currently in a rehab clinic trying to get clean. His off-field issues including two separate arrests, are from being resolved. Football is probably the last thing on Smith's mind right now.

Carlos Rogers: 49ers secondary at its best in 3 years, still room for improvement

In his three years with the team, San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl cornerback Carlos Rogers has seen the secondary's progress throughout, and he thinks they're playing as well as it ever has during that span, writes the Associate Press, via the Washington Post. While the unit looks impressive in 2013, they're currently ranked 2nd in pass defense. They can do better than...

49ers moving the ball with both phases of offense

One decisive 18-play drive told the story of San Francisco's successful day on offense. The 49ers (4-2) churned out 89 yards and used up 9 1/2 minutes of clock time, from late in the third quarter to just less than seven minutes left. Kendall Hunter's 6-yard touchdown run put his team ahead of Arizona by nine points on the way to a 32-20 victory Sunday. Vernon Davis produced...

49ers injury report: Kap's foot a non-factor

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick listed as “probable” on the official 49ers injury report Friday with a foot injury has no limitations coach Jim Harbaugh said. When asked if the Kaepernick’s condition has forced the 49ers to adjust plans for practice or games Harbaugh answered. “No it hasn’t. He’s taking just as many reps on practice every single practice.” He added he...

Big day by Davis lifts 49ers past Cardinals 32-20

If Vernon Davis keeps this up, perhaps the San Francisco 49ers can stop worrying about the passing game until Michael Crabtree returns from injury next month. Davis caught touchdown passes of 61 and 35 yards and finished with a career-best 180 yards receiving, leading the 49ers past the Arizona Cardinals 32-20 on Sunday for their third straight victory. Colin Kaepernick threw for...

49ers Fans Show No Class

San Francisco 49ers fans should be ashamed.  Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell was laying motionless on the ground injured.  So San Francisco 49ers fans decided that was a good time to do the wave. They not only decided to do the wave, they decided to keep doing the wave while Calais Campbell was being hoisted onto a stretcher and players from both teams huddled...

49ers' pass attack has mostly been Boldin

Anquan Boldin said he and Larry Fitzgerald remain close and still keep in touch after six seasons together in Arizona when they were the league's most fearsome receiving duo. You have to wonder if the theme of their recent messages has been: Wish you were here. Both enter today's game at Candlestick Park as part of paltry passing attacks. Fitzgerald's Cardinals are...

San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals Post Game Wrap Up

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals as they won their third straight game. The 32-20 score could have been worse if if wasn’t for some initial struggles in the red zone after the defense came up with a couple of big turnovers. This game was a total team effort. Each phase of the game did a good job of playing 49er football. The win was highlighted by an 18 play,...

Help is on the Way

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers: 2013 Week 6 NFL Pick

Arizona Cardinals (3-2) at San Francisco 49ers (3-2) Remember when everyone freaked out just because the 49ers lost 2 of 3 games. Good times. Losing 2 of 3 games isn’t a big deal. It’s just more noticeable at the start of the season. They’ve won the last two games by a combined score of 69-14. However, everything is still not as perfect as it seemed coming into the season....

49ers injury report: Patrick Willis and Justin Smith Limited

While the San Francisco 49ers’ offense continues to get healthier, the same cannot be said of the defensive side of the ball, according to their official team web page. Defensive lineman Ray McDonald did not practice Thursday with a biceps injury. Unfortunately, that injury may also cause him to miss a key divisional matchup this weekend. To make matters worse, fellow defensive...
