San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs has not played in a regular season game this season, and he seems upset about it heading into this weekend's game against his former team, the New York Giants, USA Today reported Wednesday. Jacobs was released by the Giants last spring and signed by the 49ers, but he did not seem overly excited about the possibility of facing the Giants on Sunday. "It would be different if things were different, put it that way," said Jacobs, according to USA Today. "I don't have any thoughts on it." Jacobs has not been in uniform for any regular-season games after suffering a knee injury in preseason. But he claimed he was ready to play last week against Buffalo. "How many times have you seen me (on the field) this year?" Jacobs asked two reporters. The answer, of course, was none, and Jacobs said he did not know whether he would be activated for Sunday's game either. He did say he's physically ready to play. "I feel great. I feel phenomenal. My leg is as fresh as yours," he said. He said he was ready to play the past two weeks, but it has not been up to him. "No. I'm just here doing what I've got to do, listening to people, practicing every day. That's all I can do," he said. He admitted he's frustrated. "Oh, very. Because I don't know anything. I don't know what's what," he said. "But I'm hanging in there, I'm working every day, doing what I have to do. Let's say I'm just working and doing what I have to do and that's that. "I've learned over the years when you open your mouth and say certain things, it hurts you, so I'm just going to shut up and keep working."
