According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, the San Francisco 49ers have an “offer on the table” for quarterback Alex Smith and his representatives.

The 49ers remain uninterested in Peyton Manning and are working hard to sign Smith to a long-term deal.

Even though some people might still be skeptical about whether or not Smith is the answer in San Francisco, he did lead the 49ers to a 13-3 record in 2012.  I know a big part of it was their stout defense, but he did what he had to, to help his team win games.
