According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the San Francisco 49ers they be looking to trade up in the first round, since they have plenty of draft picks to make it happen. The 49ers are at No. 31 overall, have 13 draft picks, including two selections each in Rounds 2-5. It’s believed by at least one GM that the Niners are interested in moving up to the 13th or 14th overall pick. There is no way that the 49ers can keep more than five or six new draft picks with the way the team is structured right now. Expect GM Trent Baalke to either trade up or trade out for picks in the future. The talk around the league is that the 49ers would like to get a defensive lineman who can eventually step in for veteran Justin Smith. The team also needs a safety, No. 2 tight end and could use an impact corner. All of that is possible. Not only do the 49ers have a load of picks this year, they also have about nine or 10 next year, according to general manager Trent Baalke.  So they can move up if they want to. Need NFL Tickets? 49ers have serious interest in trading up in first round of NFL draft

The San Francisco 49ers have been pedal to the metal all offseason. They traded for receiver Anquan Boldin, signed cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, and traded Alex Smith. As the draft nears, GM Trent Baalke will be looking to replenish his defensive line that lost a few solid players via free agency, and in a deep draft for quality linemen, he can do just that. The 49ers need help...

San Francisco 49ers: 2013 NFL Mock Draft

The 2013 NFL draft is days away for the San Francisco 49ers, and I predict a lot of trades on draft day, because the 49ers have so many picks this year. They have 14 picks, and for a franchise that isn’t rebuilding that’s a problem, because you don’t want lots of talent that other teams will wait to scoop up after final cuts come in August. I have predicted three trades on...

The AJ Jenkins factor: Why the Niners should not trade up for a WR this draft.

Despite recent rumors of trading up for WR standouts such as Tavon Austin (West Virginia) or Cordarrelle Patterson (Tennessee), and even waiting around to see if Robert Woods (USC) lands in their hands, the 49ers have bigger priorities then Wide Receiver. Not to mention the holes they need to fill are rich in talent this upcoming draft. With many defensive standouts declaring for...

In depth 2013: San Francisco 49ers

Everyone remembers how Colin Kaepernick took over for the injured Alex Smith midway through the 2012 season and led the San Francisco 49ers and the team’s fans on a magical ride right through the Super Bowl in February. There have been a few free agency defections from the roster that finished just a few yards away from winning the Super Bowl after the 2012 season. But for the...

Anthony Dixon Looking For A Bar Where Everybody Knows His Name

Former Mississippi State and current San Francisco 49ers running back Anthony Dixon was in Starkville this weekend for the Bulldogs' spring game and festivities surrounding said spring game.  All appeared to be going well, as Dixon even got in the spring game and scored a touchdown in street clothes, until Saturday night when Dixon, along with many others apparently, was denied...

San Francisco 49ers 2013 Schedule: Predicting the Wins and Losses

The San Francisco 49ers enter the 2013 season as one of the favorites to come out of the NFC and make a return trip to the Super Bowl. They have weapons on both sides of the ball and consistently play tough, inspired football for coach Jim Harbaugh. They took another step forward as being the team to beat by the off-season signings of Anquan Boldin and Nnamdi Asomugha. Boldin provides...

49ers gear up for draft with 13 picks

With 13 draft picks, Trent Baalke has built quite the board of potential players. A board that is well prepped but could change quickly as the draft unfolds. The San Francisco 49ers general manager has already fielded his share of calls from teams trying to boost their chances by acquiring some of those selections from the NFC champions. ''It's up to us to turn those...

Jim Nantz wanted to jump out of Super Bowl booth

We all remember the now-infamous blackout that occurred during this year's Super Bowl. Thanks to a faulty power supply (and Beyonce's literal lights out halftime performance), the Superdome faded to black like the end of "The Sopranos," sending the entire CBS crew into a frenzy. It was at that point that Jim Nantz was ready to take matters into his own hands...

49ers Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports reports that the 49ers are “believed” to be interested in possibly trading up to either No. 13 or No. 14 depending on what happens at the top of the draft. San Francisco would reportedly like to get a defensive lineman that could eventually replace veteran DE Justin Smith. Cole mentions that there’s “no way” the 49ers can keep more...

49ers rumors: San Francisco to have busy draft

The San Francisco 49ers hold the No. 31 overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, but they are also armed with 12 other selections. Considering they are a team that has relatively few holes, they could be a candidate to move up for a player they target. One general manager expects something to happen, as an unnamed executive told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports that they believe...
