According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to sign cornerback Tarrell Brown to a contract extension some time this month. The new deal would give Brown a chance to recoup the $2 million he lost in the offseason after his former agent failed to remind him that he had to attend voluntary offseason work outs that would trigger a bonus in his contract. Brown is currently scheduled to become a free agent after this season, which is why the 49ers want to sign him to a new deal now. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... The San Francisco 49ers made a lot of news in the off season when they signed Nnamdi Asomugha after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles. Many fans wanted this pairing to occur two years earlier when Nnamdi was considered to be the best cornerback in the NFL. A lot has changed since then. This is proven by the news today that the 49ers have waived the former all pro.

After being waived by the San Francisco 49ers in order to make room for WR Mario Manningham and CB Eric Wright. I expect a short time away from football for the 10 year veteran.

The San Francisco 49ers will be getting some help at the wide receiver position soon. Mario Manningham is set to be activated for their next game against the Carolina Panthers.
