Though he is currently awaiting trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd, Aaron Hernandez is also reportedly being investigated in connection with the 2012 drive-by shooting that killed Dorchester residents Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado. Evidence in the latter investigation surfaced Wednesday, as surveillance video from a club in Boston shows Hernandez with Abreu and Furtado on July 16 of last year, just hours before they were shot to death in their car, multiple law enforcement sources told the Hartford Courant. A third individual, who has not been identified, was also injured in the incident. Authorities have been searching for a gray SUV with Rhode Island plate in connection with the case, and a vehicle matching that description was found and seized at the Bristol, Conn., home of Hernandez’s uncle in June.
