There’s Adam Jones, and then there’s Pacman. During the Bengals’ blowout win against the Jets on Sunday, Jones once again took on the persona of his alter ego. Jones, who has been mired in his fair share of controversy during his NFL career, got tangled up in another mess on Sunday, this time threatening the receiver he spent most of the day covering, according to the New York Daily News. Jets receiver David Nelson burned the Bengals’ secondary on Sunday to the tune of eight catches for 80 yards, which couldn’t have sat well with Jones. The receiver also got rough when blocking out in space, throwing a few alleged cheap shots at the cornerback after the play, according to Jones. The “dirty” play sent the impulsive cornerback into a fit of rage, even inducing him to rattle off a few threats “I’m going to find out where you live and come and get you,” Jones told Nelson, according to the Daily News. Jones, who also had a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown on a pass intended for Nelson, admitted to sharing some words with receiver during the game, but he didn’t seem to think anything would come of it — except for maybe a few fines. “He told me to shut the hell up. It was something like 35-6,” Jones said, per Bengals.com. “[Nelson] was playing dirty. He cut me like four times after the play. Thank God I took my medicine today, I guess, and I didn’t go off. Hopefully he’ll get fined. At least three fines. There were three real cheap shots after the play.” Jones has a right to be upset if Nelson really was taking cheap shots at him, though, considering his checkered past, he might want to keep away from making anymore threats.
