When the Baltimore Ravens beat down the Cincinnati Bengals during the first week of the 2012-13 NFL season, quarterback Joe Flacco stated that ” I just got a lot more expensive,” referring to his then pending contract status.
Flacco proceeded to help take the Ravens on a emotional ride that was capped with a Super Bowl victory.
His playoff numbers were incredible as he and the Ravens ran through names such as Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
In doing so, Flacco threw 11 post-season touchdowns over four games and left Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome no choice but to dig deep into the budget.
