Former Eagles president Joe Banner went from president to team adviser, and owner Jeffrey Lurie, a longtime friend, said it was "all done for what's best for everybody involved." According to the Boston Herald and Los Angeles Times, part of the reason Banner was removed from the chief financial role in the personnel department was he and coach Andy Reid didn't always agree on player moves. The Herald reported Banner was against Reid's decision to sign wide receiver DeSean Jackson to a five-year, $47 million deal because Banner's "contract power" was usurped and that "Banner would have never done that deal." Banner maintains and office at the Eagles' facility, the NovaCare Center, but as sources told The Sports Xchange's Len Pasquarelli, he has looked into ownership opportunities in the NFL, including with the Buffalo Bills.
