Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that an NFL source has informed him that the Bears are “hot on” OT Phil Loadholt. Tom Pelissero adds that the Bears are actually offering more than the Vikings who don’t want to pay more than $5 million per year. The Vikings have said that they would like to re-sign Loadholt and reports from last night indicated that they were still working on a new contract. Loadholt has been a very solid tackle in past few years, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a better than expected market for his services. We have him listed as the No. 17 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list. The post Report: Bears “Hot On” Free Agent OT Phil Loadholt appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Report: Percy Harvin wanted a better quarterback in Minnesota

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports, wide receiver Percy Harvin told the Minnesota Vikings that he needs a better quarterback throwing him the ball than Christian Ponder. Minnesota Vikings re-sign FB Jerome Felton

This was one of the really good signing of the days. Felton was an integral part in Adrian Peterson’s near record setting season and he is one of the best fullbacks in the game, ranking 5th at his position on ProFootballFocus. I was expecting him to exceed Vonta Leach’s 3 year, 11 million dollar contract from 2 off-seasons ago so credit the Vikings for locking him up for 7.5...

The Losers in the Percy Harvin Trade May Be in Miami

On Monday, one day before the beginning of free agency, the Vikings dealt wideout Percy Harvin to the Seahawks in exchange for a first round pick, a seventh round pick, and a mid-round pick in next year’s draft.   The trade works out well for both teams. The Vikings knew that keeping Harvin would be difficult. If they were stubborn, they could have held onto him, had him holdout...
