Due a big salary in 2013 on a cap-strapped team can lead to the releasing of veterans that teams don’t necessarily want to release. One of those veterans for the Ravens is Anquan Boldin.
The wide receiver, 32, caught six passes in the Super Bowl including the game’s first touchdown and a big pickup on a third-and-1 in the fourth quarter.
According to this report, Boldin would rather retire than play for another team.
He has ring and showed well on the sport’s biggest stage, but still has a lot of football left in him.
The Ravens could restructure his contract by extending him for another year or two or they could release him and re-sign him for a smaller cap hit.
It’s another thing to watch as the offseason heats up.
