Report: Brady Christensen is Done for the Season
USA TODAY Sports

One and done. That's the story of Carolina Panthers' starting left guard Brady Christensen's 2023 season. This morning, the team announced that Christensen had been placed on injured reserve but unfortunately, it's for the season, according to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer.

"The injury was later in the game. I'm not sure what play," said head coach Frank Reich. "To his credit, he finished with it. We're going to work a couple different combinations. We'll have really three different players work through there and we'll make a decision by the end of Thursday."

Reich did mention those three players being Cade Mays, Nash Jensen, and Justin McCray. It's not ideal to have two of your five starting linemen out just one game into the season with a rookie quarterback behind them, but Reich believes they will find the right mix of guys to keep Bryce Young upright.

"Just next man up. Not in a heartless way. Certainly have compassion for the players who go down. But if we look around, every team, or most teams are going through this same thing. That's why when we go through cuts and you put together your practice squad, you tell those guys it's really a 69-man roster because everybody's probably going to play by the end of the year."
