Denver native LenDale White never got to really suit up for his hometown team. In one calendar year, the sixth-year running back played in only a handful of preseason games for the Denver Broncos before the team released him today, the Denver Post reports. An Achilles tear kept him out of the entire 2010 season. White, the league leader in touchdowns in 2008, had rushed for 10 yards on four carries in Denver’s first preseason game, a performance that was overshadowed by RB Jeremiah Johnson’s 28-yard, one touchdown effort Thursday. Already buried on the depth chart behind Knowshon Moreno, Willis McGahee, and Lance Ball, the writing was on the wall for White.
