According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer,
Texans D takes a hit — Brooks Reed expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a groin injury. No surgery, but tough loss as home-field race heats up.

This is a big blow for a thin outside linebacker position group, and it looks like rookie Whitney Mercilus will replace Reed in the starting lineup. Connor Barwin, Bryan Braman, Jesse Nading and Mercilus are the healthy outside linebackers on the current roster. It will be interesting to see if the Texans look else where for help or promote rookie Delano Johnson from the practice squad.
Stay tuned for further developments on Reed’s injury.
