According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports,  Texans head coach Gary Kubiak loves quarterback Case Keenum so much that he could end up getting more than one start. Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak “loves” Case Keenum, according to several people close to him, and has long been raving about the raw potential in the former un-drafted quarterback. With Matt Schaub injured and unable to play — and already losing his grip on the starting job anyway — Keenum could end up starting more than one game, sources said, with the staff having been eager to get a look at him for quite some time. “Gary loves him,” said one source close to Kubiak. “He’s extremely cerebral. He doesn’t have that big arm but he fits their mold — he can extend plays and get out of the way. He understands the system. That’s going to be a tough environment but he shows a pulse and moves the team some, I bet he sticks with him after the (Week 8) bye.” The Texans didn’t have a choice but to start Keenum today.  Schaub

  • Congrats, Case Keenum! You really provided a much needed SPARK for the Texans players and the fans. Your Defensive unit delivered enough to get KC QB Alex Smith in check except for a quick TD walk in the end zone.

Had your pass to the end zone been caught, the Texans may have come home with a W. So, in the 'bye' week, watch the tape and see where you can improve for the Nov 3 Sunday visit by the Indy Colts on an NBC SNF game. You can win over Oliver Luck...just watch Indy's Defense playing Peyton Manning tonight. Show the nation you are special in the SNF football on NBC in two weeks, Case. We enjoyed your plays except for the fumbles...which you can surely improve on.

Find a way to play their game and elude them the best you can when they come to Houston after your BYE week. You certainly have all Texans fans excited this Sunday afternoon. Too bad that Brian Cushing got another injury, and may he recover quickly.

Texans Face Decision With Keenum, Schaub

The Houston Texans are at a crossroads. They are now 2-5, sit three-full games behind Indianapolis in a division that was supposed to be theirs, and are now playing musical chairs at the quarterback position. Incumbent starter Matt Schaub was off to the worst start of his 10-year career in 2013, setting an NFL record by throwing four “pick six” interceptions (interceptions...

Texans Quarterbacks Coach Sees Some Doug Flutie in Case Keenum

Case Keenum gets his first NFL start for the Houston Texans on Sunday, and, if his quarterbacks coach is right, there are many more to come. Texans quarterbacks coach Karl Dorrell seems to think very highly of Keenum, who was the team’s third-string quarterback entering the season. Dorrell even drew some lofty comparisons for Keenum, noting some similarities between him and another...

Keenum takes over for Schaub at QB for Texans

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub and linebacker Tim Dobbins were inactive for Sunday's game against the unbeaten Chiefs after both were ruled out with injuries earlier in the week. Case Keenum was making his first NFL start in place of Schaub, who wasn't ready to go after sustaining right ankle and foot injuries in last week's loss to St. Louis. Dobbins was out with a...

Gary Kubiak Says Matt Schaub is His Starting QB

Case Keenum was good, not great against the Chiefs. In Gary Kubiak’s mind he didn’t do enough to win the job. “Matt’s our starting quarterback,” Kubiak said of the veteran Schaub. “Case played this week.” Kubiak said he would re-evaulate the position during the Texans’ bye week.

Case Keenum Isn’t World Beater, But He Gives Texans More Hope Than Matt Schaub

The Texans’ playoff hopes were dealt another crushing blow on Sunday, but there may have been a silver lining in the loss. With quarterback Matt Schaub unavailable with a foot injury on Sunday and backup T.J. Yates doing nothing to instill confidence in his abilities, the Texans turned to undrafted second-year quarterback Case Keenum to lead the offense. The situation wasn’t...

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Browns will QB Brandon Weeden against the Chiefs next weekend. Gary Kubiak On Brian Cushing’s Knee: It Doesn’t Look Good

My prayers go out to Brian Cushing because you hate to see bad luck strike a guy in consecutive seasons. The prognosis for Houston Texans middle linebacker does not look after taking this low block from Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles in the third quarter of the teams game. According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Texans head coach Gary Kubiak was forthright when he stated that...
