Marc Trestman will be hired as the next head coach of the Chicago Bears, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
In five seasons, Trestman led Montreal to three Grey Cup appearances and two titles as head coach of the Alouettes.
Trestman was chosen over Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, as well as Darrell Bevell, the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, each of whom were considered finalists for the position as head coach in Chicago.

Though he’s served as the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes since 2008, Trestman has past experience in the NFC North.
He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 1979-80, was RBs coach in 1985-86 and took the QBs coach position from 1990-91.
In addition, Trestman has helped quarterbacks Scott Mitchell and Jake Plummer get to the postseason and coached Rich Gannon to an MVP. He was also offensive coordinator for the league-leading offensive of the San Francisco 49ers in 1995 and has ...

The hiring of Marc Trestman is a blessing for Jay Cutler, ESPN analyst Steve Young believes. Cutler, who hasn’t had the supporting cast or sound offensive mind, now will get the chance to show his stuff. Working in a quarterback challenged offense, Cutler held on to the ball too long trying to make something happen. When things did happen, they were usually bad, with Cutler throwing...
Brandon Marshall almost single-handedly carried the Chicago Bears’ anemic passing attack this season, catching nearly four times as many passes for more than twice as many yards as any other wideout on the Bears’ roster.
All that work took a hard toll on the seventh-year pro, and Marshall will now undergo arthroscopic hip surgery, ESPN.com’s Michael C. Wright reports. The...
With good friend Lovie Smith out as the head coach of the Chicago Bears it was only a matter of time before defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli followed him out the door. Marinelli will not return to the Bears in 2013 according to WSCR Chicago. Marinelli had one year left on his contract.
New Bears head coach Marc Trestman had been rumored to want Marinelli to remain with the Bears...
The Chicago Bears finally found their head coach early Wednesday morning in Marc Trestman, along with a new offensive coordinator and special teams coach.
It’s obvious the Bears are committing completely to building their offense into one of the league’s best.
With the players the Bears have brought in over the past few years, why wouldn’t you commit to the offense? It would...
Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall needs to
undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his hip, according to Michael C. Wright of
ESPN Chicago. While the Bears are characterizing the surgery as “nothing,” it
is expected to sideline Marshall for two weeks.
While it has yet to be officially decided, it appears unlikely
that Marshall will play in the Jan. 27 Pro Bowl. He...

Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman, according to Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Tweet Since firing Lovie Smith in late December, the Chicago Bears have been interviewing candidates for their vacant head coaching position left and right. The position is now no longer vacant. Early Wednesday morning, the Bradd Biggs and Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune announced that Marc Trestman, formerly the coach of the Canadian Football [...]
Long time coordinator/quarterbacks coach and former Montreal Alouettes (CFL) head coach, Marc Trestman was hired to lead the Chicago Bears. For the Bears this hire was made to utilize the weapons they have on offense and was an indictment on former coach Lovie Smith, who was fired for the fact the offense wasn't consistent.
I don't know how Bears fans view the hire and...

The Bears are interviewing for a second time Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman and Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. A person familiar with the situation says the Chicago Bears have hired New Orleans Saints offensive line coach Aaron Kromer as their offensive coordinator.
The person spoke Wednesday on the condition of anonymity because the move had not been announced. Kromer will work under new coach Marc Trestman, who was hired to replace the fired Lovie Smith on Wednesday.
The Bears are trying...
Aaron Kromer has accepted the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach jobs with the Chicago Bears under brand new head coach Marc Trestman.
The Chicago Bears have made Marc Trestman, former coach of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes, the 14th head coach in franchise history.
Just hours after being hired as the 14th head coach in Chicago Bears history, Marc Trestman didn’t waste any time going to work. He made two hires, naming former New Orleans Saints offensive line coach Aaron Kromer to offensive coordinator/offensive line coach. Kromer served as interim coach of the Saints at the beginning of the season, due to the fallout [...]
