Down and Distance:
Per a tweet from @NFLColts, the Indianapolis Colts official Twitter feed, head coach Chuck Pagano surprised the team today by visiting the complex and attending a team meeting. The 51-year old Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia in September and is expected to need four to six months of treatment. The support for Pagano has been widespread across the NFL, across all fanbases and organizations. During the first week the Colts played without him in which the team defeated the heavily favored Green Bay Packers in a miraculous comeback, the hashtag #ChuckStrong was trending on Twitter. Pagano was replaced by Colts’ offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and have gone an inspiring 3-1 in his absence, including an overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans with an electrifying “Superman” touchdown dive by running back Vick Ballard.
Pagano started in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in 2001 as the secondary coach, transitioned to defensive backs coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2004, and then joined the Baltimore Raven in 2008, serving as defensive secondary coach, then defensive coordinator. The Colts hired him as their head coach earlier this year, replacing 3-year head coach Jim Caldwell.

Indianapolis Colts’ rookie running back Vick Ballard scored a spectacular touchdown in overtime to give the Colts a 19-13 win over the Tennessee Titans. Andrew Luck found Vick out of the backfield for a 16-yard touchdown, but the incredible part was when Ballard took flight from the three-yard line and turned his body upside-down to somehow get the ball across the plane of the...
Have you ever wondered what it would look like to launch yourself from the 5-yard line and extend and torque your body in such a way that you narrowly land inside the pylon for a game-winning touchdown?Yeah, here's what that would look like. And it helped the Colts win in overtime over the Tennessee Titans, 19-13.Watch as Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard punches...
Tweet There are game-winning touchdowns and there are game-winning touchdowns. Indianapolis Colts rookie running back Vick Ballard took a pass from Andrew Luck in overtime yesterday and scored on one of best effort plays you may see in the NFL this season to beat the Tennessee Titans. I’m not exactly sure how to [...]
Rodriguez: Instant Grades in Colts/Titans Game.I'm still getting over the Colts's most recent win. I mean, seriously? SERIOUSLY? A run game! A highlight play by Vick Ballard! What happened? It's like, after I woke up (after falling asleep in the first half), the Colts were good.
Anyway, Rodriguez has grades and analysis from the game; the only problem is the high grade...
Signing Andrew Luck to the first pick of the NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league. They might have been lucky to win three or four games under the rookie, but most everyone believed it was nothing but a year to rebuild and retool.
Suddenly, the Colts aren’t the team we once thought they were.
Playoffs? Playoffs? Could it be...
Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians mentioned that he expects RB’s Donald Brown and Vick Ballard to play “equal amounts” during Week 9′s game against the Dolphins, per George Bremer.
Brown returned from arthroscopic knee surgery last week and totaled 80 yards on 14 carries. He figures to be the first man up this weekend, but Ballard will be worked into the mix at some...
Andrew Luck continues to resemble the man he replaced in Indianapolis. The first overall pick in the 2012 draft has become the face of the Colts and that continued on Sunday.
