Reports from Chicago on Thanksgiving Day indicated that quarterback Jay Cutler will start Sunday against Minnesota and that right tackle Gabe Carimi has been benched. According to CBSSports.com, Cutler was limited in practice Thursday but has met the concussion protocol and, barring setbacks, should be able to play against the Vikings. Backup Jason Campbell, who started Monday night against San Francisco, also was slowed by various injuries. Meanwhile, guard Chilo Rachal returned to the Bears on Thursday, one day after quitting the team following a demotion, according to a Chicago Tribune report. He had been placed him on the reserve/left team list. Carimi confirmed the team's decision to bench him, CBSSports.com reported. Jonathan Scott is expected to take his place and Chris Spencer will replace Rachal on the Bears' maligned offensive line.
