The New York Jets have tried to trade cornerback Darrelle Revis for the past two months and one NFL source told Gary Myers of the New York Daily News that this thing could get very ugly. “I think it’s going to get ugly, very ugly,” one NFL source said. “You can’t trade your best player. You do everything to keep him. It’s going to get ugly with the player and the agent. I don’t know how you get around it. It’s very difficult.” The source said he believes Revis will make a full recovery from his ACL injury because, “ACLs aren’t what they used to be, it’s not a big deal anymore,” but if the Jets were to trade Revis before he gets back on the field “they will get 75 cents on the dollar. If he was not hurt, I would say you would be looking at getting two No. 1s. Now it’s more like a No. 1 and a No. 3. And I’d want a high No. 1.” It seems like the Jets have no idea how to handle a tough situation.  The Tim Tebow experiment was a flop and now they have no idea what to do with one of the best players their franchise has ever had. I agree with Myers’ source, this thing is going to get ugly.  I also believe it’s going get comical because of how poorly the Jets handle their business.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

  • Once again the jets organization shows just how pathetically stupid they are. This is a perfect example of why this team hasn't won anything since Joe Namath held up his index finger after delivering in Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts. If they don't want this guy then they should publicly announce that they're looking to get value in return for him in order to better the teams chances of winning. But you don't publicly disrespect a guy who has been an outstanding player for your team. You tell the media that you hate to lose a player of his caliber but you want to be sure you get something of value for him because this is after all a business. Hell, this is the same organization that THINKS rex ryan is actually head coaching material. Rex is as bad if not worse than his pompous father was as a head coach. The jets will win 6 to 8 games this season IF their lucky and once again show the NFL what a collection of clowns they truly are. GO GIANTS!!!! The real team in New York.

No matter how ‘ugly, very ugly,’ the New York Jets must trade Darrelle Revis

An NFL source predicted to the New York Daily News that the New York Jets’ standoff with elite cornerback Darrelle Revis will get “very ugly.” The 27-year-old Revis, who the Jets selected out of the University of Pittsburgh with the 14th overall choice in the 2007 draft, was indefinitely shelved after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament last September against the Dolphins...

Key’s got some advice for the Jets: trade Darrelle Revis. (Credit: Ezra Shaw/Getty Images) The New York Jets are in an awfully sticky situation with star cornerback Darrelle Revis. Rants- Darrelle Revis -for whinning that the Jets management didn’t call him to tell him he isn’t getting traded. Seriously Darrelle? Darrelle Revis Wears Patriots Uniform As New York Daily News Imagines Bill Belichick Making Move for Jets Cornerback (Photo)

It’s not a question of if the Patriots would want Darrelle Revis in a New England uniform. It’s a question of how, and when. No team would turn down the talent of Revis, one of the best cornerbacks in the league and a player who has caused serious trouble for the Pats in recent years. And no one in New England would feel bad if the Jets couldn’t afford to keep Revis, and he...
