The Miami Dolphins are working on a trade for OT Branden Albert with the Kansas City Chiefs for a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday. Kansas City and Miami have been in trade talks since last month’s NFL owners meeting and team sources acknowledge that a deal could be finalized before the start of the draft (Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EST). Photo Credit: KCChiefs.com Albert received the franchise tag from the Chiefs earlier this offseason, but talks on a multi-year deal have stalled.  The 6-5, 316-pound offensive lineman also isn’t even participating in Kansas City’s offseason program. He’s actually training in South Florida right now and has also been adamant about remaining a left tackle.  Albert, 28, has appeared in 73 contests (71 starts) and started at LT for the team since being selected with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Virginia.  He even vented about the possibility of having to s...

Dolphins rumors: Miami interested in Chiefs’ Branden Albert

It appears that the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs could be mulling a trade that would send offensive lineman Branden Albert to KC, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The Dolphins are interested in Albert, and NFL.com notes that a potential deal “makes too much sense.” Miami is in need of a left tackle after losing Jake Long to free agency. The Chiefs have Albert...

Dolphins Reportedly Interested in Branden Albert

It’s being reported by Ian Rapoport on his twitter account, that the Miami Dolphins are interested in acquiring LT Branden Albert from the Kansas City Chiefs. Now that the Dolphins have large shoes to fill, with Jake Long moving to St. Louis, going after Albert, who is still just 28, would be a great move. The cost for Albert is reportedly a high second round pick. Currently the...

Cowboys Interested In Eric Winston

The Dallas Cowboys in my opinion are a solidified offensive line away from making a deep playoff run.  The line is solid right now, but a nice pickup could push the line to really good status. ESPN Dallas is reporting that Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones was on 105.3 The Fan today, and admitted that the team was in exploratory talks with former Chiefs tackle Eric Winston....

Kansas City Chiefs Reportedly Want a 2nd-Round Pick in Trade for Branden Albert

Ever since LT Branden Albert signed his one-year $9.8 million franchise tender last month, he has been very unhappy with the team for being slow in their attempt to lock him down long term. Albert was seeking a multi-year contract during the offseason and instead was slapped with the franchise tag. Although he would still be making a pretty penny in 2013, Albert is more concerned...

Cowboys' position on right tackle

IRVING, Texas The Dallas Cowboys' position on the right tackle position? It's one driven by political correctness. One driven by open-mindedness. And one driven by leverage. "I think there's some interest and prospects there,'' Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones tells us, "between what we have and what we could get.'' That "interest...

Tackle Branden Albert rumored to have interest by Miami

Just this evening, Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports posted an article detailing the possibility of Branden Albert being traded to Miami.  Should the Dolphins pursue this avenue, they will and must be prepared to pay Albert a little more for his services than what Eric Winston is seeking as well as a second round draft pick.  Albert is due 9.83 million on a one year deal...

NFL Draft Notes: Dolphins, Browns, Jets, Cardinals

Dolphins Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland isn’t “isn’t totally in love” with the idea of drafting Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson, even at No. 12 overall.
