Michael Clayton is back in the NFL. The New York Giants are expected to sign Clayton, who worked out for the team Tuesday, according to multiple news reports. Clayton had been playing with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Footall League. He signed with that team Oct. 25, so the Giants only needed to file the proper paperwork with the league. The Giants are without injured receivers Hakeem Nicks (leg) and Steve Smith (pec) for several more weeks. Clayton's contract is believed to be for the remainder of the season. But for a former first-round pick who worked out for nearly a dozen NFL teams and resorted to playing in the NFL, this is a big break for Clayton.
