Carolina Panthers linebacker Kion Wilson told police that four guns were stolen from his pickup truck in a Best Buy parking lot, WCNC-TV reported Wednesday.
Wilson reported that the four guns -- a Glock 23, a 12-gauge shotgun, a 57 FN handgun and a Smith and Wesson -- were taken from his Ford F250 truck and that a door lock was damaged by the thieves.
The guns were valued at about $1,700.
The report did not state why the 25-year-old Wilson was traveling with the guns in his truck Monday.
Head coach Ron Rivera said Wednesday the team is aware of the situation and is looking into whether the firearms were registered, according to The Charlotte Observer.
Wilson was undrafted in 2010 out of South Florida. He spent last season with the San Diego Chargers and is a reserve for the Panthers.
