A man killed early Saturday morning in a moped accident in Bristol, Conn., has been identified as Aaron Hernandez's uncle, according to The Hartford Courant.
Robert J. Valentine, 49, suffered a life-threatening head injury after being thrown from his moped when he struck a curb shortly after 1 a.m. ET, police told The Courant. Valentine was the brother of Terri Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez's mother, the paper is reporting.
Aaron Hernandez, who is currently being held without bail in Massachusetts, has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 about a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough, Mass., home. His attorneys have said the case against him is circumstantial and they are confident he will be exonerated.
