According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, as we get closer to the beginning of the new league year and the start of free agency, it’s “highly” likely” the Redskins will release cornerback DeAngelo Hall. The Redskins as of Friday afternoon had yet to engage in talks to restructure the contract of the 10-year veteran, and team officials hadn’t offered any assurances that Hall remained in their plans, sources said. Hall is scheduled to make $8 million next season, but Washington is roughly $3 million over the salary cap because of the $18 million penalty the league leveled against them last year and this year as punishment for how they structured contracts during the uncapped 2010 season. It will be interesting to see if the Redskins try and re-sign Hall at a lower salary if they do cut him.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();
