Report: Jacksonville Jaguars GM Considers Anton Harrison for LT

The Jacksonville Jaguars hoped to build on their strong 2022 season with another playoff run. However, they fell flat and had to settle on the sidelines after the Houston Texans shocked the NFL with a solid playoff run.

As they try to regain their bearings, one of the biggest needs they need to address is the offensive line. Jacksonville’s front office needs to provide decent cover for Trevor Lawrence so he can make the perfect pass.

They can try to plug the gaps in free agency, but they may already have the answer right under their noses.

Will Anton Harrison perform as LT for the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Anton Harrison was drafted by the Jaguars as their starting right tackle, but he started on the left of the center in his Oklahoma days.

According to Jaguar Report’s John Shipley, Harrison is talented enough to provide cover for that spot while they look for somebody to take over his spot on the right.

Jaguars GM Trent Baalke had this to say about him during the team’s post-season presser:

“Coming into the National Football League and going up mano-mano on some of the best pass rushers, a gauntlet of pass rushers throughout the course of the year; you look at the pressure rate that he gave up and a guy that wasn’t given a lot of help in terms of chips and double teams and protection,” Baalke said.

“You got to be nothing but proud of how he handled himself as a rookie. He’s only going to get better, there’s another young guy that really loves the game, loves to work and loves to compete. We expect great things from him. Do we feel like he can play left? Absolutely we do.”
