Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Jaguars are not shopping any of their veteran players like RB Maurice Jones-Drew or TE Marcedes Lewis. Rapoport adds that Jacksonville would need to be “blown away” to consider trading a veteran. GM David Caldwell and HC Gus Bradley reportedly reached out to veterans on Wednesday to explain their thinking with the Eugene Monroe trade. It’s worth noting that Monroe wasn’t even on the trading block when the Ravens contacted them, according to Rapoport. The Jaguars intend to build through the draft, and the fact that they could use some more draft picks made this seem like the right move. Jones-Drew is in the final year of his contract, so it will be interesting to see if they allow him to walk, or if they’re willing to extend him an offer or possibly even use their franchise tag on him. Rumors could always pick up as the trade deadline nears, so I’m sure we’ll hear more regarding Jones-Drew possibly being traded in the coming weeks. We have Jones-Drew listed as the No. 20 player in our Top 50 – Free Agents list. The post Report: Jaguars Not Shopping Other Veterans Like RB Maurice Jones-Drew appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
