According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lions running back Jahvid Best will likely start out the regular season on the PUP list, which means he won’t be able to be activated until after week six of the regular season.
Lions RB Jahvid Best is likely to start this season on physically unable to perform list, which would sideline him at least first six games.

It’s certainly not a good sign that Best hasn’t been cleared by the doctors yet. We all know concussions are serious and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up retiiring within the next year or two.
BEST OF MAXIM
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Lions RB Jahvid Best could very well begin the 2012 regular season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list meaning he would have to sit out the first six weeks of the season.
Best’s inability to get himself into camp stem from multiple concussions last season, one in the preseason and the other coming on October 16th in a loss...
This isn't very surprising but it's disheartening for Jahvid Best and it goes beyond just his prospects for this season. Best may never have a real NFL career because of the cumulative impact of three known concussions and who knows how many undiagnosed concussions. The Lions backfield situation is a mess of their own making. They knew Best was undersized and had an injury...
Before suffering a concussion that cost him the final 10 games of the 2011 NFL Season, Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best was one of the top PPR Fantasy Football running backs around. In fact, in PPR leagues, Best finished the season with fifth-highest point per game average, as he averaged over 18 fantasy points a game in six games last season.
Fantasy owners were hoping that...
ESPN's Adam Schefter expects that Lions running back Jahvid Best will begin the season on the PUP list. Best has been dealing with concussion symptoms for much of the last year.Fantasy Spin:That would eliminate Best for the first six games of the 2012 campaign. With Best out for the forseeable future, expect Kevin Smith to take over the running game in Detroit.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best will likely start the season on the PUP list due to his lingering concussion symptoms.
If placed on the PUP list, Best would miss the first six games of the 2012 season.
Best, a former first round pick in 2010 after a stellar college career at the University of California, missed the majority of the 2011 season...
On heels of Jahvid Best's likely PUP designation, Lions welcome back running back Mikel Leshoure.
According to multiple sources including ESPN’s Adam Schefter the NFL and the referee’s union are making no progress on an agreement that would have the regular NFL refs officiating any games. For right now it looks like we will have to settle for the college and high school officials that are officiating the games this preseason. Many people have complained about these...
Wide receiver Mike Wallace is expected to join the Pittsburgh Steelers before the regular season begins, according to Adam Schefter.
Wallace wants a long term contract and says he wont sign his tender offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have said they wont negotiate a long term deal until Wallace reports to the team and signs the one-year, $2.7 million tender.
This is a little meta because Jamison Hensley was quoting Adam Schefter’s mailbag in creating his own blog post about Colt McCoy being a trade fit with the Green Bay Packers. Schefter’s thoughts are nothing new, really, except to say that Aaron Rodgers still needs a capable backup now that Matt Flynn has moved along to Seattle. Hensley’s take is what I am quoting and responding...
Mike Wallace wants serious money and the Steelers are holding their ground in insisting that Wallace sign his tender of $2.7M for one year and report before they will negotiate. This is what you call a standoff. Adam Schefter (we are big fans and he's got the greatest job ever) reports that the plan from the Wallace camp is to report week one as opposed to doing the Vincent...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com, Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill is making a run at winning the starting job.
“Looks more & more like he’s making a real run at the Dolphins’ starting quarterback job,” said Schefter.
With David Garrard recovering from surgery and Matt Moore not looking very impressive...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace is expected to end his hold out and report to the Steelers before the regular season begins.
He always could change his mind, but Pittsburgh WR Mike Wallace is expected to report back to Steelers before the regular season begins.
