The New York Jets have offered Karl Dunbar a job as the team's defensive line coach. The New York Daily News said that Dunbar, who was fired by the Minnesota Vikings after the season, interviewed with the Jets two weeks ago. Dunbar spent six seasons as defensive line coach of the Vikings, who were annually among the league's best teams against the run until tailing off this season. He played for Buddy Ryan - the father of Jets coach Rex Ryan - with Arizona in the mid-1990s. If Dunbar accepts the position, the Jets are expected to reassign current DL coach Mark Carrier, according to the newspaper report.
