The New York Jets have expanded their general manager search to include three additional candidates Thursday, including former Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo, according to multiple reports. The Jets have already interviewed four candidates since dismissing Mike Tannenbaum, but haven't narrowed the field. Angelo was fired by the Bears after the 2011 season, is the only known candidate with GM experience. He spent 11 years in Chicago, and constructed the team that lost to the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLI. The Jets will also meet with Miami Dolphins assistant GM Brian Gaine and Pittsburgh Steelers director of football and business administration Omar Kahn. The team has contacted at least 12 potential candidates, according to an ESPN report. The next GM will have to keep head coach Rex Ryan for at least one season, and owner Woody Johnson told reporters that he any negative feedback on that choice from candidates.
