According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, earlier this season the New York Jets tried to trade for Braylon Edwards, who’s now a free agent. According to league sources, the Jets approached the Seahawks earlier this season about trading for Edwards and were serious about the proposition. The Jets lost Santonio Holmes, their top receiver, for the season in late September, and Edwards was one of the first options they explored, weeks before the trade deadline in Week 8. At the time, the Seahawks still had high hopes for Edwards staying healthy and rounding into form, and the Jets were informed that it would take something significantl in return for Edwards and not just a late-round pick. The talks were cursory, but New York’s intent was real. Throwing Edwards’ combustible personality back into that already toxic mix might have added even more turmoil to this Jets season. Now Edward’s a free agent, but I don’t think the Jets are interested after he ripped them on Twitter. “Idiots” Running the Jets Re-sign Idiot Named Braylon Edwards

You thought the expression was “Misery loves company.” Well apparently, idiocy does, too, because the Jets have claimed Braylon Edwards off of waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. Either the Jets’ front office pays no attention to social media (yeah, right) or they think that Edwards has spent his off-time being retooled a-la Steve Austin into a better, faster, stronger receiver...

New York Jets Sign Braylon Edwards For Potential Playoff Run

The New York Jets signed Braylon Edwards on Tuesday, just a week after the veteran wide receiver referred to the people who run the team as idiots. After Edwards was waived by the Seattle Seahawks, Gang Green put a claim on him and was awarded with the former 2005 first-round pick (selected third overall by the Cleveland Browns) on waivers, the team announced. The 6-3, 214-pound...

Report: Braylon Edwards may end up signing with the Jets

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards could end up signing with the New York Jets, who’ve been depleted at the wide receiver position all season. After winning yesterday’s game against the Jaguars, the Jets are now 6-7 and only a game out of the wild card race.  If they sign Edwards it will give them a better chance of making it to the...

Braylon Edwards claimed off waivers by the Jets

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets have claimed wide receiver Braylon Edwards off waivers. https://twitter.com/MMehtaNYDN/status/278610682658840576 Edwards is back with the team that let him sign with the 49ers last season.  What’s really funny is just he just bashed the Jets last week, which likely led to  him being released by the Seahawks.   Need...

Report: Jets Nearly Traded For WR Braylon Edwards

Jason La Canfora reports that the New York Jets were interested in trading completing a trade with Seahawks for former WR Braylon Edwards. During the early stages of the season, the Jets were reportedly interested in making a deal with the Seahawks for Edwards after they lost Santonio Holmes for the season. Seattle, however, was not willing to let Edwards go for a mere late-round...

Report: Braylon Edwards Could Return to Jets One Week After Blasting Front Office

This is just so Jets. New York is contemplating bringing back their former wide receiver Braylon Edwards, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Edwards accumulated 1,445 yards and 11 touchdowns in his 28 games with New York in 2009 and 2010. Edwards recently blasted the Jets‘ front office on Twitter by way of supporting his former quarterback Mark Sanchez. “Don’t blame Sanchez...

Stevie Johnson Expected To Play

Buffalo wide receiver Stevie Johnson (hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Rams. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBSSports.comFantasy Spin:Johnson is a middling wide receiver play this week, as he could be slowed by hamstring tightness. St. Louis has been underrated against wide receivers, allowing 18 fantasy points per game to the position in standard formats (ninth best...

Releasing Nnamdi Asomugha would make sense for the Eagles

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, if the Philadelphia Eagles decid to bench cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha from here on out, they would save a lot of money. Another option for the Eagles would be to release Asomugha after the season, since there wouldn’t be a cap hit. Benching Asomugha now, however could save the team future money in the event that he is back in Philadelphia...

Only in New York? Greg McElroy declared inactive for Jets after leading them to victory in week 13

Per multiple sources including Jason LaCanfora on twitter Tim Tebow is active today for the Jets. Tebow has been the second man on the Jets depth chart all year; so, maybe it was a ‘can’t lose your spot due to injury’ piece; maybe Rex Ryan thinks he’s their best backup quarterback; or maybe it was a marketing ploy by Woody Johnson and/or NFL higherups; either way, McElroy...
