NBC Cowboys Blog:
After a few months on the free agent market, former Dallas Cowboys guard Leonard Davis has a new home.
According to a report today by The Detroit News, Davis signed with the Lions on Monday after working out for the team last week, this according to Davis’s agent, Ryan Tollner. Davis also worked out for the team back in August, shortly after being released by the Cowboys as a casualty of the salary cap and the youth movement going on at Valley Ranch.
A graduate of the University of Texas, Davis earned three Pro Bowl nods in four seasons with Dallas. 2011 will mark his 11th season in the NFL.

If the Cowboys fail to make noise in a wide open NFC East, Jerry Jones could decide to make a change. Would that change mean trying to take another crack at luring former Titans coach Jeff Fisher to Big D?
Cowboys can’t stop the run
ARLINGTON – What’s happened to the Cowboys’ vaunted rush defense?
That was one of the burning questions to emerge from Sunday’s 23-13 win over Seattle after Marshawn Lynch rushed for 135 yards and a TD on 23 carries.
Through the first six games of the season, Dallas sported the league’s stingiest run defense, allowing just 69.7 yards per game. But things started falling...

Tony Romo, Cowboys Bounce Back, Beat Seahawks 23-13
Tony Romo threw two touchdown passes and the Dallas Cowboys bounced back from a rough loss to take a 23-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Dallas was trounced in Philadelphia last week, 34-7, but improved to 5-1 under Jason Garrett after a loss thanks to Romo and three interceptions by the defense. Romo finished the game 19-of-31 for 279 yards while DeMarco Murray ran for 139 yards...
Victory Over Seattle Gives Cowboys a Much-Needed Boost
Sunday’s 23-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks wasn’t the prettiest thing, but in the grand scheme of things, the Dallas Cowboys reached the main goal, and that was earning the win.
As usual, this outing had the good (DeMarco Murray), bad (red zone offense), and the ugly (stupid penalties), but reaching the halfway point of the 2011 season at 4-4 gives the Cowboys...
Witten Set To Pass Ozzie Newsome On All-Time TE Reception List
Jason Witten is already in elite company in terms of his production as a tight end, but there’s a good chance--a very good chance--that as of next Sunday, he will become the third most prolific tight end in the history of the game with respect to receptions.
Witten needs just two catches to pass Ozzie Newsome on the all-time receptions list for tight ends. After that, only...
