Peyton Manning will meet with the Broncos in Denver on Friday night, a newspaper reported. According to The Denver Post, the Broncos are on the short list of teams for which the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback would like to play. Reports surfaced Thursday that Manning wanted to find his new team by the end of next week and that he would prefer to stay in the AFC. Manning, 35, didn't play in the 2011 season after undergoing four surgeries in 19 months to repair a neck injury. Since then, Manning has been cleared to play by Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the procedure. John Elway, the Broncos' vice president of football operations, said earlier this offseason that Tim Tebow would be the team's starting quarterback heading into training camp. But Tebow also must improve on his 47 percent completion percentage to fend off competition. Who that competition will be is unclear. Manning, the Colts' longtime quarterback, was released earlier this week, before he was due to receive a $28 million bonus on March 8.
