Peyton Manning will meet with the Broncos in Denver on Friday night, a newspaper reported.
According to The Denver Post, the Broncos are on the short list of teams for which the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback would like to play.
Reports surfaced Thursday that Manning wanted to find his new team by the end of next week and that he would prefer to stay in the AFC.
Manning, 35, didn't play in the 2011 season after undergoing four surgeries in 19 months to repair a neck injury. Since then, Manning has been cleared to play by Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the procedure.
John Elway, the Broncos' vice president of football operations, said earlier this offseason that Tim Tebow would be the team's starting quarterback heading into training camp. But Tebow also must improve on his 47 percent completion percentage to fend off competition. Who that competition will be is unclear.
Manning, the Colts' longtime quarterback, was released earlier this week, before he was due to receive a $28 million bonus on March 8.

They started angry. Disrespected. No one believed they had a chance to compete without Peyton Manning. 4-12, 2-14, etc. Many a radio and television personality go against the stream of public opinion, even advocate it while simultaneously agreeing with about 90% of their colleagues. Some would call this hypocrisy. Sometimes though, you just can’t fight it, and as the 2011 season...
Justin Tuck expects Peyton Manning to make any team he signs for an instant NFL powerhouse. The New York Giants defensive end just hopes it's not a team in the NFC East.
The Indianapolis Colts avoided paying Manning a $28 million bonus by releasing the 35-year-old quarterback on Wednesday, and his list of suitors is looking long. Tuck is concerned about one potential destination...

Yesterday afternoon when Peyton Manning was cut after 14 seasons with the Colts, it was the most emotional day in team history since being moved from Baltimore. Manning held a very public and emotional press conference. In the conference he talked about his past with the organization, his current health status, and of course what his future holds. The Manning Move…all a part of the master plan?
First off let me say this I am an Indianapolis Colts fan, always have been but for me Peyton Manning was the only quarterback I have known in a Colts uniform. I must say that the dealings on Wednesday really made me, well upset, and here is why. How is it that you let someone that has been committed day in and day out to your...
With Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne now both on the market, there has been some talk of the duo shopping themselves as a package deal. Peyton probably won’t limit his options to teams that have interest in signing Reggie, but Wayne may do his best to follow Manning wherever he goes. In fact, it sounds like the former Colts receiver is already crossing his fingers that both can...
At the end of the day, the decision was by the Indianapolis Colts to cut Peyton Manning was primarily a financial one, with the franchise not willing to pay the superstar quarterback the 28 million dollars they would have owed him had they kept him past tomorrow, March 8, 2012. That and the fact that they would have taken a huge salary cap hit made this a fairly easy call by the...
Browns general manager Tom Heckert said today the Browns won't pursue Peyton Manning, who was released Wednesday by the Colts. "Not really,'' said Heckert in an informal meeting with the media today. "That's probably not a direction we're going to go.'' Heckert also re-iterated what he said at the end of last season: "that the Browns are...
