AP Photo According to ESPN’s Bob Holtzman via Evan Silva, a source who knows Wallace told Holtzman that he’ll eventually cave in and report to training camp. “A source who knows Wallace well told me yesterday that he thinks Wallace will eventually be in camp,” said Holtzman. THere’s no doubt in my mind that Wallace will report. He has to make money this season, and the only way that will happen is if he shows up and plays each week.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Franchise Tag Candidates

WR Mike Wallace This is an interesting one. Under normal circumstances, Wallace would appear to be an obvious candidate for the franchise tag because the Steelers don’t really have any other pending free agents worth the tag. However, Wallace could hold out into the 2012 season and the Steelers probably wouldn’t reward him with a franchise tag if he does that. They also are pretty...

Roethlisberger Has Done All That He Can Do To Get Wallace Into Camp

While all of the talk this past week concerning Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been about his ankle and small rotator cuff tear in his throwing arm, not enough credit has been given to him for his attempts to help out in getting restricted free agent Mike Wallace into camp. Columnist Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette called out the Steelers quarterback...

The Bus says Mike Wallace doesn’t get the Steelers

The Mike Wallace holdout saga continues, and as the days weeks continue to go by more people are speaking out on the situation. It’s a shame that we still have to talk about this with preseason underway and the regular season starting next month. Somehow though in the back of our minds, as fans we feared it would come to this and now it has.  Much like Hines Ward’s situation...

First 2012 Pittsburgh Steelers Depth Chart Released

The Pittsburgh Steelers released their first depth chart of the 2012 season on Monday and overall it does not shed any light on the overall situation, as several of the listings seem to go by experience and do not match the reports that have come out of practice. Let's have a look at a few things that stick out to me and things that do not jive. The first thing that sticks...

Report: Steelers won’t trade Mike Wallace

Getty Images According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Steelers will not trade wide receiver Mike Wallace this season.  “The Steelers do not expect Mike Wallace to report to training camp before they depart St. Vincent College Aug. 18, but they have no intention of trading their Pro Bowl wide receiver at any point this season, a team source told the Pittsburgh...

Steelers have speed to burn even without Wallace, but is it enough?

I keep saying that I’m over and done with this whole Mike Wallace thing but as camp moves forward, heading into it’s second full week, the passing attack of the Steelers continues to prepare for life with out their speedy deep threat.  Whether or not you’re in the same boat as me, tired of the Wallace circus, thinking he’s a one trick pony, or whatever, he fills a role and...

Jerome Bettis: Mike Wallace “doesn’t really understand the concept of how the Steelers work”

AP Photo Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis was a guest on the NFL Network’s NFLAM show and said that Mike Wallace simply doesn’t understand how the Steelers operate as a franchise. “I think when you go through the history of the Steelers, they do things a bit differently,” Bettis said. “And when you look at in relationship to their stars, they still...

Antonio Brown’s extension reportedly didn’t sit well with Mike Wallace

AP Photo According to ESPN’s Bob Holtzman via Rotoworld.com, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace wasn’t too happy to hear about Antonio Brown’s recent contract extension, as he continues to hold out for more money. “(The source) said that there’s a lot of healing that needs to be done — for both sides,” Holtzman reported. “I’m also told, though, that...
