According to a report from Ralph Vacchiano, the New York Giants have increased their offer to Victor Cruz to $8 million per year, a $1 million increase from the reported $7 million per year deal. Reports out of Cruz’s camp is that he is seeking upwards of $10 million per year, including bonus money. The Giants offer reportedly includes $15-18M in guarantees. Cruz never received an offer sheet while he was a restricted free agent, and hasn’t signed his 1st-round tender which would pay him $2.879 million. The Giants, if they so choose, could end up lowering that amount by nearly $2 million if Cruz decides to continue playing hardball with them. It would seem unlikely, but if would also be unwise for Cruz to continue to demand more money. The Giants offer would make him one of the highest paid #2 wide receivers in football.
