In the 10 days or so that Peyton Manning has been a free agent, rumors have put his future home in multiple locales around the country, from Denver to San Francisco with Tennessee in between.

Throughout the process, little if any details have emerged with regard to a possible contract figure for Manning, and while there has been some speculation as of late that’s put the parameters of a deal close to the five year, $90 million agreement the future Hall of Fame quarterback signed with the Colts last off-season, a recent report by Mike Klis of the Denver Post indicates that Manning has yet to seriously engage in any real contract negotiations with interested teams.

Manning has been extraordinarily deliberate in making a decision, spending significant time researching and contemplating each potential destination, and then talking it over with front office personnel from all of the finalists for his services.

It’s expected that Manning will choose his new club early on next week and at this point, it’s anyone’s best guess as to where that might be. Both the Broncos and Titans have pulled out all the stops to lure Manning their way, and the 49ers jumped into the fray in the past few days, seemingly taking charge of the process thanks in large part to their ability to quickly make a Super Bowl run.
