TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings
The Green Bay Packers, seemingly so loaded with talent after winning the Super Bowl two years ago, had only three players selected to the Pro Bowl this season, and now the only one who will make it to Hawaii wasn't even a starter in the teams playoff loss last weekend.
According to the Dallas Cowboys website, Packers linebacker Clay Matthews has joined quarterback Aaron Rodgers in sitting out the Jan. 27 Pro Bowl. Dallas linebacker Anthony Spencer will take the place of Matthews, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons. Aging Packers center Jeff Saturday, who made the Pro Bowl on reputation after years of snapping the ball to Peyton Manning in Indianapolis, is still on to make the trip to Hawaii. He was benched late in the year for poor play and is unlikely to be back with the Packers in 2013. Green Bay's coaching staff will lead the NFC team for the second straight year.
Matthews, 26, had 13 sacks in only 12 games this season and battled a nagging hamstring injury through most of the second half of the year. Rodgers dropped out of the Pro Bowl earlier this week after admitting he failed his postseason physical due to ankle and knee injuries.
Spencer, making his first Pro Bowl appearance, had career-high 11 sacks and will join Cowboys tight end Jason Witten in Hawaii. Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware had been named to the Pro Bowl but is being replaced by Chad Greenway of the Vikings after pulling out with a shoulder injury.

Greg Jennings may not get the money he’s looking for in free agency
According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings may not get the kind of money he’s looking for once he becomes a free agent this offseason.
Greg Jennings is a really fine wide receiver, but he may be in for a little bit of a rude awakening on the free agent market. According to a couple of front office men I spoke with, teams...
Packers searching for answers at running back
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- All season long, a carousel of running backs spun in and out of the Packers' offense. From James Starks to Cedric Benson to Alex Green to Ryan Grant to DuJuan Harris, there were plenty of serviceable players for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to hand the ball to.
That variety has its advantages, but most teams aren't going to carry five running backs with relatively...
Packers' Sitton added to Pro Bowl roster
Green Bay Packers guard Josh Sitton has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster. Sitton was an alternate at guard, and he was named to the team on Sunday, replacing San Francisco starting guard Mike Iupati after the 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl.
Sitton has been an alternate in the past, but this is his first Pro Bowl selection. The Packers coaching staff is coaching the NFC squad...
More Talk Of Limited Interest In WR Greg Jennings
Dan Pompei of the National Football Post writes that Packers WR Greg Jennings figures to find a limited market for services once free agency is open for business.

Shields Leads Packers' RFAs
The Packers have five restricted free agents, including cornerback Sam Shields and center Evan Dietrich-Smith. Of them, the big financial decision will be with the tender amount for Shields.
Packers Overachieved In 2012
Linebacker Erik Walden was one of many mediocre starters for Green Bay
There’s no excuse for how poorly the team performed against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs, but looking back, it’s hard to be disappointed in the 2012 Green Bay Packers.
If you look objectively at the 24 players (including kickers) who took the majority of snaps at their respective...
Packers Should Hire Horton
Ray Horton turned around the Cardinals defense in only two seasons
Mike McCarthy was appalled when a reporter asked him about Dom Capers’ future. Well, fans should be appalled if McCarthy doesn’t hire Ray Horton as his new defensive coordinator by the end of the weekend.
Horton did a terrific job with the Cardinals’ defense last season, but he wasn’t retained when the team...

Positional Review: Outside Linebackers
We look back at the season with our featured performer, depth chart, unit grade and look ahead to 2013. Clay Matthews had a dominant season, even while missing four games. Even though the other outside linebackers combined for nine sacks, the Packers need someone to emerge as a consistent sidekick.
