According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers plan on trying to trade tight end Jermichael Finley in the offseason and if they will release him if they’re not able to trade him. Sources familiar with the Packers’ thinking say the club not only wants to get rid of Finley but has decided to do exactly that in the off-season. It means that if the Packers cannot find a trade partner, they are prepared to release Finley because of financial, competitive and behavioral reasons. There is no way the Packers will pick up the second half of the two-year, $14 million contract they gave Finley in late February, according to sources. Just a couple of years ago Finley was expected to be one of the NFL’s top tight ends, but he hasn’t lived up to the hype with all the dropped passes he’s been accumulating over the past couple of seasons.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = ''+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

  • As a Packer fan it is very dissapointing how bad J Mike is.He does nothing for the team,it is all about J Mike.He does not block well on runs,drops balls,and oh yeah those stupid celebrations after finally catching a ball.I was suprised the Packers signed him last year.If he would block on runs,they could probably get a couple of those 76 yard touchdown playes Mr. Crabtree got.We have good tightends,no room for a buffoon on the Packers.

Jermichael Finley reportedly will be traded or released after season

Jermichael Finley has been writing his ticket out of Green Bay for the past two seasons, and it looks like the Packers are finally prepared to part ways with him. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported late Saturday that the Packers are prepared to release Finley after the season if they are not able to trade him first. Finley signed a two-year, $14 million extension in February...

Finley expects to be back with Pack

Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley answered a weekend report that the Packers would part ways with him after this season with his words and actions Sunday. Finley caught five passes for 61 yards in Sunday's 21-13 win over Chicago and afterward spoke about a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel story that indicated he wouldn't be around next year. "I think that's just...

Report: Jermichael Finley Saga in Green Bay to End With Packers Getting Rid of Tight End in Offseason

The Packers had plenty of problems as this season began. But, aside from the usual worries about the offense getting its act together and the team winning close games, one name always popped up in the headlines: Jermichael Finley. The tight end never seemed to be happy with the team and especially MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Finley complained of chemistry issues, and his agent...

Brian Urlacher takes a shot back at Jermichael Finley

Earlier this week, Green Bay Packer tight end Jermichael Finley came out and said the Bears are a better team without linebacker Brian Urlacher on the field. Bears linebacker Lance Briggs came to the defense of Urlacher, but Urlacher also decided to fire back at Finley. “Just like a couple of years ago, I think, he tore his ACL and the Packers were actually better without him,”...

Jermichael Finley gone at end of season

Tight end Jermichael Finley is likely playing in his fifth and final season as a member of the Green Bay Packers as the club reportedly has decided to get rid of him in the off-season. According to Bob McGinn's Report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel the Packers are willing to release Finley, who signed a $14 million deal last February, if the team is unable to find a trade...

Brian Urlacher responds to Jermichael Finley with ultimate blast

When the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers Sunday with the NFC North on the line, linebacker Brian Urlacher will not be playing. The 13-year veteran hurt his hamstring during a Week 13 loss to Seattle, and he is likely to miss the team’s next few games. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers enjoys competing against the best players, so he said he was disappointed Urlacher would...
