The New England Patriots have waived Joseph Addai, reportedly because he failed his physical. It was unclear what concerns Patriots had with the former Indianapolis Colts running back in Wednesday's transaction, according to ESPN.com. Addai had 4,453 yards on 1,095 carries in six seasons for the Colts. Last season, he rushed for 433 yards on 118 carries in 12 games. In May he signed a one-year contract, which included a $75,000 signing bonus and $50,000 workout bonus. The Patriots now have four running backs: seocond-year players Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Danny Woodhead and rookie Brandon Bolden.
