According to Peter King of SI.com, the Baltimore Ravens and running back Ray Rice have agreed on a new multi-year deal.
Rice’s new contract is worth $40 million over five years, with $25 million guaranteed and $17 million in one season, per Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.
There’s no question the Ravens had to get Rice under contract and they did just that with only five minutes to go in the deadline.

Don’t get me wrong, Ray Rice is a a very good running back, but the Baltimore Ravens just dropped their shorts when they signed him yesterday. The terms of the deal? 5 years, $40 million and it calls to pay the running back $17 million this fall. You’ll probably going to point to the fact [...]

According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, everything remains quiet between the Baltimore Ravens and running back Ray Rice.
Wilson did say that the Ravens have a history of getting deals done at the last-minute. All we can do is wait and see what happens as the deadline approaches.
Season 2, Episode 126 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start off by explaining how we are not playing up to the standard today after I lost the rerecording of our Tuesday morning interview with Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. We had a great talk with Nate concerning the Cleveland Browns as they head into training camp, but unfortunately the file...

Finally they have come to an agreement: $32 million contract over 4 years. Impatient fans were sweating over the wait and starting to get heated over Forte’s lack of agreeing, perhaps he felt pressured into [...]

Earlier in the day, news broke that Matt Forte had been signed a long term deal with the Bears, surprising everyone who had covered the contract dispute between the two sides. Now you can add Ray Rice to the list.

The 2011 NFL Season came to an end with many big name superstars heading to free agency or getting franchise tenders from the clubs they have played for.
Four of these superstars shared something in common. They all are franchise running backs who play important roles in their teams' playbook. Now that the signing period came to end, to get franchised players signed long...
When last we left quasi-organic nugget farmer, Peter King, we revisited the Klassic King column that ran the Monday after the Tuck Rule Game. Y’know, the one where he didn’t mention the Tuck Rule Game until 2,200 words into the piece because he was too busy blubbering about the golden retriever he bought for half price at a going-out-of-business sale of a negligent pet store...
I usually try to get a NFL-related visual element to top the Klearinghouse, but news just doesn’t want to cooperate today. That’s mid-July for you. So here’s the latest single-serving Tumblr making the rounds: Rich Kids of Instagram. Because we can always use a little more contempt of obscenely privileged people in our lives. Try to pinpoint future NFL owners. It’s fun....
