Fox Sports:
Maybe it's not such a good thing NFL teams can talk to players now.
The Baltimore Ravens told running back Willis McGahee and nose tackle Kelly Gregg on Monday they will be released on Thursday, a source told the Baltimore Sun.
And those two are apparently just the beginning, as the Ravens are is expected to cut ties with other veteran players.
Cutting McGahee and Gregg will save the Ravens -- who were over the salary cap -- $9.5 million.
"We will be making a number of roster moves in the next 48 hours that will free up salary-cap space," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome told the newspaper. "This will gives us the ability to make offers to our players we want to re-sign, plus put us in a position to sign free agents from other teams."
